In the Vietnam scooter market, Yamaha is the leading competitor, with its highly admires Sirius scooter. Since past two years, Yamaha Sirius has been the most selling scooter in Vietnam and is the preferred choice of young riders. Recently, Yamaha introduced the 2015 version of Sirius which sports a cutting-edge electronic fuel injection technology, that contribute to maximum optimization of power and excellent fuel-efficiency. In the latest edition, Sirius has adopted the same sleek and compact design, which new graphics in body color scheme, that further accentuates its stylish and sporty appeal. Yamaha has launched the new Sirius in three peppy colors, that ensure its distinctive on road appeal.

Design

The sleek and stylish scooter Sirius sports a dynamic design. In the front, the bike is bestowed with square headlights, with halogen HSI bulbs and a merging oval shaped turn indicators, which gives the bike a sporty look. Along with this, the new body graphics accentuates its sharp appeal. In the rear, the bike gets stylish rear lamps with turn indicators, with multi-layer reflective power. Chrome highlighted grab grills, provide support and style both. The scooter sports a new muffler design, with complements its sharp and powerful outlook. The bike is also equipped with a very modern looking blue clock face, which displays information in an easy and clean way. The new body design, with graphics and flaps painted in body color tones, on the side fenders give the bike an edge over it competitors. Yamaha has kept the Sirius sleek and compact, measuring at 1.890mm x 665mm x 1.035mm, which allow the rider to effortlessly zip across narrow lanes and jam-packed traffic.

As its pacemaker, the bike comes equipped with a 114cc 4-stroke, SOHC, 2 valve, single cylinder engine that produces a significant 8.7PS at 7000 rpm and a peak torque of 9.5NM at 5,500 rpm. Yamaha has incorporated the new Sirius with cutting-edge electronic fuel injection technology, keeping in mind the base concern of Vietnamese riders – which is fuel-efficiency. This new FI engine optimizes the efficiency of the exhaust system, exhaust gas, as well as actuators, enables powerful engine, smooth but still save fuel. The bore and stroke of 50.0mm x 57.9mm allows the scooter to accelerate quickly and smoothly, which enables the rider to zip in and out of traffic in a jiff. Mated with an automatic 4-speed gearbox, Sirius can top at a speed of 75kmph, making it ideal for your daily commute.

Safety, Braking, and Miscellaneous

To ensure absolute safety, Yamaha has integrated the Sirius with disc brakes with two piston clamps in the front and drum brakes with a single piston in the rear. The brakes provide sufficient initial bite, stopping the scooter in an instance. The disc brakes are only available in Sirius disc brake variant, which comes at a slightly higher price tag. Along with advanced braking, the scooter also gets telescopic, hydraulic shock absorber in the front and cylindrical springs, hydraulic dampers suspension in the rear, which contribute to greater stability, absorbs bumps and low friction.
