Yamaha FZ150i

Introduction

In 2008, Yamaha launched FZ150i and since then it has received various facelifts. To provide an improved bike in terms of performance Yamaha has introduced the all new FZ150i early this year which has a better outfit and a touch of refinement. The Japanese manufacturer has blessed it with electrified body design with enhanced aesthetics and the price of the bike is also slightly higher than the previous version. Yamaha offers this ready to race bike in following color options: Blue, Red and Black.

Design

The automakers at Yamaha have designed FZ150i with beautiful body structure and sporty appearance to feast the two-wheeler enthusiasts all over the country. It has been built on the same frame which has been used earlier in the previous version but in terms of technology loads of changes are made. Overall the designing has muscle spirit which makes it something really different than the other bikes from this segment. The front fascia has a wonderfully designed mask and single-eyed halogen headlight along with the side indicators. The darker visor and sharper nose at the front look quite fresh and majestic. The side view of the bike shows the husky fuel tank which has the company insignia on it. The front forwarding fuel tank gives a sporty appearance to the bike and the LED taillight with clear lens side indicators at rear add the fresh look. In terms of its dimensions, FZ150i has a length of 2010 mm, width of 720 mm and height of 1030 mm weighing 129 kg.

Engine, Economy & Performance

Talking about its engine and performance, the Yamaha FZ150i has been equipped with a 12-litre 150cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke,4-valve, SOHC, liquid cooled engine to churn out the maximum power of 16.4 hp at 8500 rpm and the peak torque of 14.5 nm at 7500 rpm. The power unit is linked to a 5-speed gearbox to provide a fast and smooth acceleration. With this configuration, the FZ150i delivers an overall stunning performance and it can go up to 160 kmph within few seconds.

Handling

The Japanese manufacturer has bestowed it with telescopic suspension at the front and mono shock suspension at the rear to keep its performance breathtaking. Yamaha FZ150i rolls on tubeless tyres size 90/80 R17 at front and 120/70 R17 at the rear which has been outfitted on the beautifully designed 5-spoke black alloy wheels to add more intrusive appearance. The tyres have a decent adhesion property and provide a superior stability even on the bumpy roads. FZ150i gives a stunning handling on the curvaceous road due to its body structure which has been designed so flawlessly to provide an excellent and hassle free riding.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

For satisfactory braking, Yamaha has outfitted FZ150i with a set of the disc brake at both ends. The brakes are powerful and very absorbing to stop the wheels easily without getting locked in an emergency situation. Yamaha FZ150i is a perfect street bike in a way. Overall the manufacturers at Yamaha have undoubtedly produced this bike with snazzy features and versatility which makes it a tough competition among other bikes. It is a well-furnished vehicle for the young riders. The racing performance and smoothness of the engine make it immensely flick-able.
