Introduction

Kymco is a Taiwanese two-wheeler company which was founded in 1963. Candy is the latest launch by the company and the manufacturers are offering this very versatile scooter in four different variants. The scooter is meant to provide immense power and enthusiasm. It opens up another choice for Vietnam's two-wheeler lovers. All four trendy and good looking variants come with adequate durability and promises a satisfying performance. Candy resembles a mid-sized sporty scooter with the front fascia having twin headlamps integrated on the chromed apron. All the variants have been blessed with a well-cushioned long seat to ensure the comfortable seating.

Design

Kymco Candy is a superfluous constructed scooter with dynamic and stunning features. It is one of the most beautifully crafted scooters the country has seen so far. The handlebar has been furnished with a glossy matte black finish and the rear view mirrors mounted on either side are small, with chrome treatment.

At the front, it has a single-eyed headlight that ensures visibility even on the darkest roads along with the clear lens side indicators. LED tail light with turn indicators have been equipped at the rear portion of the scooter along with a mirror-like finish light weight exhaust pipe. In terms of dimensions, it has a length of 1820 mm width of 680 mm and height of 1100 mm with a kerb weight of 94 kg. Kymco has provided all four variants with a wheelbase of 1250 mm. Candy has been bestowed alloy wheels that offer a decent amount of grip on any kind of surface.

Engine, Economy & Performance

Kymco Candy 4U and Candy Hi110 both have an 110cc, air-cooled, four-stroke, single cylinder engine that churns out the maximum power of 7.77 hp at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 7 nm at 6500 rpm. On the other side, Candy S and Candy Hi50 have been equipped with a 50cc, single cylinder engine to develop the decent power of 3.61 hp at 8500 rpm and a superlative torque of 3.5 nm at 7000 rpm. The power unit is linked to a continuously variable transmission to provide smooth acceleration.

The scooter breathes through the viscous air filter and comes to live with an easy electric starter. With this configuration, Candy sprints from 0 to 60kmph in 16.8 seconds and manages to hit a top speed of 57 kmph. Overall the engine is powerful and delivers a stunning performance.

Handling

The Taiwan-based manufacturer has used the tubular frame in the making of Candy. All four variants have been outfitted with the telescopic suspension at the front and coil spring suspension at the rear portion of the scooter. Kymco Candy 4U and Candy Hi110 both moves on 90/90 R12 radial tyres on both ends. Candy S and Candy Hi50 have been outfitted with 70/90 R14 on both sides. The tyres are effective and produce an outstanding grip even on the bumpy road. The tyres are encircled over stylish tough black alloy wheels in all four versions.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

For satisfactory braking, the manufacturer has equipped a disc brake at front and a drum brake on the rear side in all the variants to grant the stopping power. The brakes work quite well and provide an enjoyable and tension free ride. In terms of safety, the manufacturer has blessed all four variants with the Kymco Controlling Features which helps the rider in an emergency situation. All these features make Kymco Candy a worthy all-around package at a very affordable price.

Verdict

Kymco Candy comes loaded with all the necessary elements that one can ask from a city scooter. The suspensions perform awesomely and adjust the weight on the handlebar according to different speeds to produce an enhanced handling and stability even on the dense road conditions.

It has sporty graphics, wonderfully constructed body structure, stunning performance, safe and secure braking power with the smooth and refined engine that makes it a trustworthy companion on the streets. Kymco Candy is one of the most successful scooters that comes with a dynamic body design and promises a superior performance.
