Lifan Storm 125

Introduction

Lifan Motors has its base in China and has evolved as a leading two-wheeler manufacturer in South Asia. It has captured two wheeler market in Vietnam with the launching of various models meeting needs and demands of the customers. The Strom 125 is one such launch model featuring 149cc engine and body detailing with latest technology accessories like digital instrument cluster, alloy wheels, chrome-plated headlight, chrome plated silencer pipe.

Design

It is a very stylish motorcycle with trendy features and chrome-plated headlight, stylish fuel tank, the special design of the seat giving comfortable posture for the rider and the pillion passenger. The unique styling of the exhaust manifold silencer pipe with twin silence pipe attached to the single exhaust manifold outlet gives it a special attention on the road. The dimensional features include 2160mm X 815mm X 1090mm (Length X Width X Height) spread over wheelbase of 1450mm. The saddle height is 730mm giving excellent riding posture for the rider and the ground clearance of 140mm is good enough for normal road conditions of city and highway. The usage of dual silencer pipe has resulted in a comparatively heavier kerb weight of 155kg as compared to other bikes of the segment.

Engine, Economy & Performance

This bike gives a fantastic experience of riding a special bike with excellent performance 149cc engine delivering the power of 13.4hp at 9500rpm and torque of 10Nm at 7500rpm. The initial pick up of the engine can enable the rider to reach a speed of around 30 to 50kmph at a brisk pace and takes a bit extra time for reaching a top speed of 95kmph. In city conditions of usage, one can rely upon mileage of around 40kmpl, the best of mileage is achieved in constant speed riding such as in a highway.

Handling

The handling of this bike is made easy with excellent bike dynamics and quick response of the engine. The best of road grip is achieved with stylish alloy wheels fitted with tough performer tyres with rating 80/90 R17 at the front and 110/80 R17 for the rear. The fine grip of the tyres makes it easy to handle the bike on wet and slippery conditions and encourage for balanced high-speed riding on curves and gradient roads of hilly areas. The pillion rider seat is given best of cushioning and firm grip on footrest and hand grip enable for comfortable seating in all road conditions.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

The fine ride quality of the bike enhanced with safety features of the bike such as disc brakes at front and drum brakes at the rear which bring the vehicle to a halt from high speed without jerks. The ride comfort is further enhanced with a telescopic shock absorber at the front and shock absorber with torsion spring at the rear absorbing vibrations and shock loads of the bike during riding over uneven road conditions. The comparatively larger fuel tank encourage for long rides and the headlights with chrome plating give best of visibility in the dark beside adding to the style of the bike with chrome plating on it.
