Overview:
Honda a household name in the Asian market, has been in the line of motorcycle manufacturing for more than 5 decades. From power equipment, to cars, to two-wheelers, Honda Motors has been the pioneer in automobile industries for eons. To keep up with the growing demand of scooters in Vietnam market, Honda introduced a 110cc scooter – Blade 110. The Blade 110 is based on the concept of 'Spontaneous and Sharpness, which boasts a perfect amalgamation of top-notch performance, excellent fuel efficiency, stunning design and economical price tag, making it an idol two-wheeler for daily use. The Blade 110 is recently launched in 2014 and marketed in 2015. Even in such short span, the scooter has been able to receive rave accolades from consumers for its lightweight, distinctive styling and best in class fuel economy. In Vietnam, Honda has made available the Blade 110 in three variants, - namely Standard, Fashion and Sports. Each variant sports few design changes and new color options.
Pros:

Design
The Japanese motorcycle giant is globally appreciated to craft bikes that not only boast of superior technology but also embodies a stunning design, that turn heads on the road. The Blade 110 sports a modern design aesthetics, that distinguish it from rest of the pack. The aerodynamic bodywork, with stylish graphics, neatly paneled on the body, makes the bike look more elegant yet edgy. The front mask of Blade 110 is designed to complement its overall strong and sporty appeal. The peculiar looking headlight, with oval shaped turn indicators, provide powerful illumination along with the stylish look. In the rear, the bike gets monolithic tail lamps along with high angling chrome plated exhaust which accentuates its young and peppy appeal, even on the back. The Blade 110 is equipped with a clear analog style instrument console with backlights, for a better view in the dark. Honda has made available the Blade 110 in three vibrant colors which further increase its style quotient.

Engine, Economy & Performance
At the heart, the Honda Blade 110 is equipped with a progressive 109cc 4-stroke, 1-cylinder, air-cooled which delivers a significant power output of 8.3 hp at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.65 Nm at 5500 rpm. The engine is mated with a 4-speed manual transmission, which enables smooth gear change and maximum throttle response. The new Blade 110's engine have been re-tuned to improve quick acceleration and smooth gearshift. The motor also inherits elements of Honda's 110 legendary engine, which enables outstanding fuel economy, quiet operation and good stability. This new re-tuned engine delivers a significant fuel efficiency of 52kmpl, which decreases your trip to petrol pump.

Handling
Comfort has always been a priority for Honda, and like every other scooter from this Japanese factory, the Blade 110 also delivers superb handling and utmost comfort to the rider. The bike is equipped with an upright dual-straight seat which offers a desirable riding position and comfort while riding. Also, Honda has bestowed the new Blade 110 with a low saddle height of 769mm, which is very suitable for short height riders. The well-placed footrests and a flat floor and wide leg space provide a more comfortable position to the rider. Furthermore, Honda has ensured to keep the Blade 110 lightweight at 98Kg which allows the rider swift movements in the city. The scooter also gets 17-inch alloy wheels, which offers superb road stability and all kinds of terrains. These overall adjustments to the engine and design offer a more lightweight, aerodynamic vehicle, with upright seating position which offers a comfortable riding pleasure, while zipping around the city.
Safety, Braking, and Miscellaneous
Known for the continuous up gradation of technology to caters every buyer's need, Honda has not neglected a crucial concern i.e. safety. To ensure absolute safety, Honda has integrated the Blade 110 with disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear, which delivers a fierce stopping power. The brakes provide sufficient initial bite, stopping the scooter in an instance. Along with this braking, the scooter also gets telescopic, hydraulic shock absorber in the front and cylindrical springs, hydraulic dampers suspension in the rear, which contribute to greater stability, absorbs bumps and low friction. Though, this combination of brakes and suspension in quite mediocre, and fails on difficult terrains and potholes, but keeping in mind the economic price range of this scooter, Honda is offering the best it can.
Verdict:
Aimed for young riders, the Honda Blade 110 is a vibrant looking sporty scooter. The newly retuned engine, provides Blade with a better fuel economy and good power output.
