Introduction

The SYM Motors in Vietnam has introduced a variety of two-wheelers ranging from mopeds to high performer bikes. In scooter segment, the line-up includes Venus, Shark, Elizabeth and the Atilla-V is one of the classic styling decent performer scooters among the list. Currently, it is available in single variant and six colour options.

Design

This is a classic design Scooter from SYM featuring a nice combination of the design of body panels and decorative strips on the front panel, the brown texture on a rubber mat and the seat getting special attention. The headlight and indicator light with chrome surrounding and the bold design of tail lamp beautifies the scooter. The dimensional features include 1805mm X 680mm X 1145mm (Length X Width X Height) and ground clearance 135mm. The saddle height and best of cushioning of the seat, space between seat and handlebar and the handlebar grip give best of posture for the rider for the comfort of long rides.

Engine, Economy & Performance

SYM Shark feature 125cc air-cooled four-stroke engine delivering the power of 8.1hp at 7500rpm and torque of 8.6Nm at 6500rpm.The engine is mated with Continuously Variable Transmission providing a smooth variation of torque proportional to power developed by the engine enabling for easier riding over uphill tasks and varying road conditions. The smooth acceleration of the engine and faster pick up can lead to reaching a top speed of 85kmph in over 12 seconds from start and fuel efficiency of 50kmpl can be reliable in standard road conditions.

Handling

The lightweight features and smart dynamics of the SYM Shark make it easy for riding over varying roads and the best of road grip is achieved with a wide profile of the tyres of rating 100/90 R10 for the front and rear fitted onto alloy wheel. The pillion passenger is given good cushioning and comfortable posture achieved with footrest and supportive handgrip over the tail lamp for safe seating while riding at high speed and taking sharp turns and uphill tasks. The efficient performance of CVT transmission builds up torque for easier negotiations at the gradient surfaces and the comparatively smaller ground clearance calls for cautious riding over road humps.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

The safe riding of the vehicle is enhanced with strong build quality and perfect body dynamics of the scooter and smooth application of brakes with disc brakes at front and drum brakes at the rear can stop the scooter in the safe distance without any jerks or skidding. The ride comfort of the rider and passenger is improved with a telescopic shock absorber at the front and hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. The advanced locking system assures the safety of the vehicle and storage space of 27Liters under the seat enable for holding smaller items adds to the convenience of the user.
