Honda SH150i

Introduction

The SH150i is one of the latest and trend-setting performance scooter from Honda motorcycles in Vietnam. Honda featured the industry best 150cc capacity engine in this model, some of the other models in this line-up include SH125i, SH Mode, MSX, PCX, Air Blade, Lead, Vision and others. This model is available in one variant a six colour options are offered.

Design

The design features include the body panels made sleek and nice design of the headlights, indicator and tail lamp gets it best of attraction and rear view mirror mounted on the stylish headlamp assembly gets special attention of the crowd. The dual straight seat design with a saddle height of 799mm ground clearance of 144mm offer good posture for the rider while riding and assures firm footing when the vehicle is stopped. The other body dimensions include 2034mm X 740mm X 1152mm (Length X Width X Height), wheelbase of 1340mm and the kerb weight of 138kg makes it easy to handle by any age group of the customers.

Engine, Economy & performance

The performance of Honda SH150i is enhanced with usage of 153cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine delivering the power of 14.2hp at 8250rpm and torque of 13.2Nm at 6500rpm. The superior power of the engine connected to the rear wheel through CVT transmission and the best of fuel efficiency is got through PGM-FI fuel injection system. It can reach a speed of zero to 60kmphin about 8.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 95kmph in standard road conditions. The best of technology used for efficient combustion of fuel has resulted in industry best mileage of around 50kmpl in city conditions and a maximum of 55kmpl can be achieved in riding over standard road conditions.

The superior dynamics of the scooter with a high power output of the engine encourage for long rides with no compromise on ride quality and speed. The tyres with rating 100/80 R16 for the front and 120/80 R16 for the rear fitted on to the stylish and strong spoke alloy wheel assures best of ride quality in all road conditions such as wet surfaces, steep gradients and the rubber can withstand variation of road surface temperature according to weather conditions of the roads. The rider seat comfort and the pillion passenger comfort assure comfortable seating for a long time thus ensuring the pleasant experience of riding in city conditions as well as long rides.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

The ride quality and the long lasting performance of the scooter improvised with the usage of lightweight yet strong body panels and the under-body frame that can withstand all loads of the vehicle. The front disc brakes and rear drum brakes give best of control over the speed of the vehicle and assure safe stopping without any jerks. The ride comfort is further enhanced with a telescopic shock absorber at the front and hydraulic shock absorber at the rear taking shock loads and prevents rider and pillion passenger from receiving the same. The safety of the pillion rider improved by providing insulation plate over silence pipe avoiding accidental contact of the pillion passenger with it.
