Introduction

The American automobile company Harley Davidson which is acclaimed all over the world for its classic bikes has designed this vehicle to provide the most fun and utility in around-town riding. It has beautifully designed detachable hard saddlebags and quick-detach windshield. The body frame, suspension, chassis, and tires all the elements are engineered to provide a light, confident handling.

Design

Harley Davidson Switchback comes with a marvelous design scheme. It includes classic proportion and clean, straightforward lines along with the mini-ape handlebar. It has a pull-back riser which is combined with a full-length rider footboards and a two-up touring seat to give most Switchback riders all-day comfort. At the front, it has a dominating 80's style round head lamp that thoroughly goes with its overall design. From the side, one can easily see it's beautifully silver chromed engine along with the company insignia on the tank. At the rear, it has a 2-into-1 chrome exhaust with straight-cut muffler and a tail light that has side indicators in it. In regards to dimension, it has a length of 2360 mm with a width of 890 mm and height of 1150mm weighing 326 kg with 1595 mm of wheelbase and ample amount of ground clearance.

Engine, Economy & Performance

Talking about its engine and performance, the Harley Davidson Switchback has a modern designed 1690cc, air-cooled, twin cam 103, 4-stroke engine that is mated to a six-speed cruise drive transmission to develop a great amount of power and a peak torque of 126 nm at 3500 rpm. The engine has more power now than previous generations. It also has electronic fuel injection system which delivers fuel to the beast and contributes a decent fuel economy.

Handling

Harley-Davidson Switchback has telescopic fork suspension at the front and the rear part contains twin-sided swing arm suspension which provide a bump and vibration free ride to the rider. The classic-style suspension covers may add to the Switchback Harley-Davidson style, but the latest technology they’re wrapped around gives a ride that feels anything but old school. The manufacturer is offering this bike with Forties-style sensible tubeless tyres, at the front the size is 130/70 ZR 18 while the rear has 160/70 ZR 17.

Safety, Braking, and Miscellaneous

The security system includes immobilizer and siren. For satisfactory braking, Harley-Davidson Switchback is equipped with a set of disc brakes, the anti-lock brakes give stopping power. It has a big, four-pot caliper up front with a dual-pot in the rear and an ABS unit to manage it all. On top of this, Switchback also has stability and traction control. The digital display screen gives a lot of information such as temperature, trip, and clock.

With chrome tank console and integrated ignition switch, Harley-Davidson Switchback is a sharply designed Sportster. It is a well equipped 80's style luminous bike to have for around-town riding.
