Harley-Davidson has recently launched its SuperLow 1200T. With the big padded seat, huge fairings, armrest, panniers, and top box it is a perfect Sportster and the T stands for a tourer. The bike looks great with lots of shiny chrome, five-spoke cast aluminium wheels and high-quality paintwork and detailing. Overall it's very affordable, easy-to-ride and performs well.

Introduction

Harley-Davidson has a prestigious racing history and it's steeped in a general iconic coolness that can't quite dilute what's best about SuperLow 1200T. Till date, the SuperLow 1200T has been an 883-outfitted option, and it has become especially popular with riders who want to own a Harley-Davidson but require something lighter, lower and more nimble than the motor company's main-stage offerings. Instead of the usual 883cc motor, the Harley manufacturer has managed to squeeze in a 1200cc V-twin engine.

Design

Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T is an electrified two-wheeler and it gives an excellent and joyful ride to the rider. It comes with an adjustable seat and more forward footpegs. From the front, it has a cool new “dogleg”-style handlebar riser to allow a 2.4-inch range of adjustment by rolling it forward or rearward; the bar itself can then be rotated within the riser. The side view shows the Twin Cam engine which is finished in wrinkle black with chrome covers and SuperLow 1200T also has company insignia on its muscular tank to add more appeal. Rear part has a Two-into-one exhaust which has a pleasing bark. It has a length of 2210 mm with a width of 850 mm and height of 1050 mm weighing 279 Kg. SuperLow 1200T has a wheelbase of 1495 mm with alloy wheels.

Engine, Economy & Performance

Talking about the engine and performance of Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T, it has a 1202cc Evolution, 4-stroke, Air-cooled engine to develop the maximum power of 89 nm at 4150 and peak torque of 96 nm at 3750 rpm. The engine is impressively responsive, with loads of low-end grunt that makes it easy to start out from a stop and power out of corners. It has a 5-speed gearbox to provide a smooth acceleration.

Handling

The manufacturer has provided Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T with telescopic fork suspension at the front and twin-sided swing arm suspension at the rear and they seem vastly improved over street-specific Sportster. In regards to its ground clearance, limited clearance is the only thing that slows the low rider in corners. It has 120/70 ZR 18 tyre in front and 150/60 ZR 16 at the rear portion with alloy wheels to provide great handling. Thanks to its short wheelbase and steepish fork rake, Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T is surprisingly agile.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

For satisfactory braking, Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T has a set of disc brake both side. Braking is strong and readily actuated, the brake and clutch levers has perfect adjustability. On top of this, it also has a digital display within the speedometer and one can easily toggle between showing mileage or engine speed and a gear indicator. The saddlebags detach easily with a key, and the adjustable, detachable windshield is effective at diminishing high-speed buffeting.

Verdict

Ready-to-ride, the SuperLow 1200T is a little heavier than the older versions, but the 25-inch saddle height makes that bit of extra heft totally manageable at low speeds. Easy-to-ride, Easy-to-handle anything faster than parking lot speeds, the bike feels as solid and reassuring as a bank vault.
